Protein powder vs meal replacement?
The difference between protein powders and meal replacements is the nutrition content. Protein powders tend to be high in protein, and low in everything else. Meal replacements have more fats, carbs, and other nutrients because they are intended to replace the nutritional value of a meal.
How do I use it?
Protein powder – Blend 1 serving with 1-2 cups cold milk or water OR add it to oatmeal and recipes for an easy protein boost.
Meal replacement powder – Blend 1 serving with 1-2 cups cold milk or water. For a thicker shake, add avocado, banana, or ice.
Where is it made?
drink wholesome is handmade in a GMP-Certified facility is inspected by the US Food and Drug Administration and Massachusetts Board of Health located in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
What are the ingredients?
The ONLY ingredients that we use are those listed on the front of the package. Check out the MY INGREDIENTS page for more information.
Where are the ingredients from?
The main ingredients – egg whites and almonds – come from US farms. The egg whites are antibiotic and hormone-free. The almonds are non-GMO.
Where is the scoop?
We do not include plastic scoops to reduce plastic waste. We have a lot of repeat customers, so including a scoop with every order would be wasteful.
Are the eggs pasteurized?
Yes, the eggs are pasteurized.
Are the eggs cage-free?
There are three types of eggs: conventional cage, cage-free, and pasture-raised. We cannot purchase pasture-raised dried egg whites because there are no commercial suppliers of pasture-raised dried egg whites in the United States. We could purchase cage-free dried egg whites, but they are way more expensive than conventional cage dried egg whites, and we would have to pass these high costs onto you, the customer. Moreover, the best research available shows that raising cage-free chickens is worse for food safety and quality, animal welfare, worker health and safety than raising conventional chickens. We understand that this may contradict what you have heard about cage free vs conventional chickens, so we encourage you to do your own research.
Are the oats gluten free?
Yes, the oats are gluten-free.
Does the monk fruit contain erythritol?
No, the monk fruit does not contain erythritol. The only ingredients we use are listed on the front of the bag.
Is it organic?
We are a small business, and cannot afford to be 100% organic at this time. We already use a number of organic ingredients, however, and our goal is to be 100% organic as soon as possible.
Is there caffeine in the mocha flavor?
We add a pinch of spray-dried coffee to our mocha protein powder for flavor. One serving contains one tenth the caffeine content of a cup of coffee.
