Why make protein rice krispies?

Protein rice krispie treats are a nutritious twist on a classic dessert that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Now, I know what you might be thinking: “Rice krispies! Aren’t those just for kids?” Well, think again! This recipe is for the whole family, and is a great way to ensure that everyone is getting the protein they need. The result is a nutritious treat that you can enjoy at home, at the gym, or on-the-go.

Protein is essential for building and repairing muscle, supporting a healthy metabolism, and curbing cravings. Unfortunately, many people struggle to get enough protein in their diets, especially those who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet. This is where protein rice krispie treats come in! By adding a scoop of your favorite protein powder to your rice krispies recipe, you will be boosting your protein intake without even knowing it.

One of my favorite things about protein rice krispies is how versatile they are. You can enjoy them as a quick and easy snack, or crumble them to make a sweet and satisfying breakfast bowl. You can even add your toppings like fruit, nuts, and yogurt, to make a complete meal.

Making protein rice krispie treats is also a great way to save money. Store-bought protein bars can be expensive, and often contain added junk. By making your own rice krispie protein bars, you will be controlling your budget, and your ingredients.

How to make protein rice krispies.

Making rice krispies protein powder is easy. It requires no cooking skills and or fancy equipment, and can be whipped up in no time at all. Plus, you probably already have all of the ingredients you need at home. It follows that if you are anything like me, you will be making this protein rice krispie treat recipe once a week. Depending on the type of protein powder you use, you may have to adjust ratios, but once you have found the right protein powder, this recipe is foolproof.

Why drink wholesome?

This recipe was made with drink wholesome – the only protein powder made with 100% real foods. Given its simple ingredient list, it makes delicious rice krispie treats. Most protein powders, on the other hand, are not good for rice krispies because they are made with protein isolates. Isolates, which are listed on the ingredient list as “pea protein” and “whey protein” as opposed to “peas” and “whey,” are foods stripped of everything but the protein. Unlike real foods, they are missing the nutrients that make food taste good. It follows that protein isolates taste like chalk, and turn gooey rice krispie treats into hockey pucks. Avoid them at all costs.

Another reason why drink wholesome is perfect for rice krispies is that it is sweetened with monk fruit. Monk fruit, also known as lo han guo, is a small, melon-like round fruit native to Southeast Asia. It is turned into a sweetener by removing the seeds and skin, crushing the fruit, and collecting the juice, which is then dried into a powder. Monk fruit sweetener is sweet like sugar, unlike the artificial sweeteners and stevias used to sweeten most protein powders. Artificial sweeteners and stevia have an awful bitter aftertaste because they activate bitter taste receptors in addition to sweet taste receptors. They may be sugar-free, but they will ruin your rice krispies. Now without further ado, here is my favorite protein powder rice krispies recipe.

Spray a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray, and transfer the mixture to the pan using a spatula. Let your high protein rice krispies sit for at least 30 minutes before eating them.
