Unlike real foods, protein concentrates and isolates are missing the nutrients that make food taste good. In other words, they turn delicious recipes into hockey pucks. With enough trial and error, you can make these protein powders work, but how much chalky pudding are you willing to make? 

Another reason why drink wholesome is perfect for baking is that it is made with natural sweeteners. Our products that are lightly sweetened, are made with either maple sugar or monk fruit. Monk fruit, also known as lo han guo, is a small, melon-like round fruit native to Southeast Asia. Monk fruit sweetener is made by removing the seeds and skin, crushing the fruit, and collecting the juice, which is then dried into a powder.

Ingredients: 

– 1 cup strawberries 

– 1 banana 

– 2 tbsp oats

– 1 tbsp maple syrup

– 1 ¼ milk 

– 1/2 cup vanilla drink wholesome vanilla protein powder

– 3 tbsp chia seeds 

Instructions: Combine strawberries, banana, oats, maple sugar, milk and and protein powder in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add more milk if needed. Transfer to a glass container and mix in chia seeds. Place in the fridge for 3 hours or overnight until the pudding thickens.

Is this chia pudding vegan?

If you are on a plant-based diet, do not despair. Simply use our vegan vanilla, vegan chocolate or vegan unflavored protein powder. The main source of protein in these products is California almonds! Make sure you also use a plant-based milk like almond, flax or oat milk.
