Make the best chocolate protein powder recipes with Drink Wholesome. It is made by hand in the USA with 100% real foods – no chalky protein concentrates or isolates, no food additives, just real foods.
Sick of protein shakes? Looking for another way to use your protein powder? Here are a few of my favorite egg white protein powder recipes. Each recipe was designed to use minimal ingredients and require only basic cooking skills. This way anyone can get creative with egg white protein powder.
All of these recipes use Drink Wholesome. We make four flavored egg white protein powders and one unflavored egg white protein powder. Our unflavored protein powder can be added to almost any recipe for an easy protein boost.
Why Drink Wholesome?
Drink Wholesome makes egg white protein powders with 100% real foods. Our chocolate protein powder, for example, is made with egg whites, coconut, cocoa, and monk fruit. Ingredients like these are perfect for baking.
Most protein powders are not good for baking because they are made with protein concentrates and isolates, foods chemically and/or mechanically stripped of everything but the protein. Unlike real foods, protein concentrates and isolates are missing the nutrients – healthy fats, complex carbohydrates, etc. – that make food taste good. (They turn delicious desserts into hockey pucks.) With enough trial and error, you can make most protein powders work, but how many rock hard muffins are you willing to make?
Drink Wholesome is also perfect for baking because it is sweetened with monk fruit. Monk fruit, also known as lo han guo, is a small, melon-like round fruit native to Southeast Asia. Monk fruit sweetener is made by removing the seeds and skin, crushing the fruit, and collecting the juice, which is then dried into a powder.
Unlike artificial sweeteners and stevia, which are used in most protein powders, monk fruit sweetener has a sweetness profile similar to that of sugar. (Many people, myself included, find artificial sweeteners to be way too sweet and find stevia to have a terrible, bitter aftertaste.) This means that you do not have to worry about adding sugar or making something that tastes like Splenda. Order samples to taste the monk fruit sweetness for yourself.
Now without further ado, here are a few of my favorite recipes with egg white protein powder.
The Best Chocolate Protein Shake
I had to include this protein shake recipe. It is simply too good to keep to myself.

-1 ½ cup coconut milk
-1 frozen banana
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately.
You are reading a post by Drink Wholesome, a small business from New Hampshire. Drink Wholesome has taken a fundamentally better approach to protein powder by using 100% real food ingredients. Unlike the highly processed ingredients (artificial sweeteners, food additives, etc.) used in most protein supplements, real foods do not cause stomach pain. Moreover, unlike the protein concentrates and isolates used in most protein supplements, real foods do not have a chalky aftertaste. Order samples to see for yourself.
