Looking for the best matcha protein powder?

Drink Wholesome makes the best matcha protein powder with 100% real foods, foods close to nature. Food additives and protein isolates are NOT real foods.

Most protein powders contain food additives. Although food additives are not necessarily bad for you in small quantities, they can add up quickly, especially if you drink a protein shake every day. At higher quantities, food additives can cause nasty side effects.

For instance, because highly processed food additives look nothing like real foods, we have trouble digesting them. As a result, the trillions of bacteria in our guts have more time to eat and more time to release gas. This gas can cause bloating and stomach pain.

Not sure what to look for? Here is a list of the most common additives in protein powder:

acacia gum, acesulfame potassium, artificial flavors, aspartame, carrageenan, cellulose gum, dextrin, dextrose, erythritol, guar gum, gum arabic, inulin, locust bean gum, “natural” flavors, maltodextrin, rice syrup solids, soy lecithin, silica, sucralose, sunflower lecithin, xanthan gum, xylitol

Most protein powders also contain protein isolates, foods stripped of everything but the protein. Unlike real foods, protein isolates are missing the healthy fats, complex carbohydrates, and other nutrients that make food taste good. They have a chalky aftertaste.

Protein isolates are listed on the ingredient list as “whey protein,” “pea protein,” and “soy protein,” as opposed to “milk,” “peas,” and “soybeans.”

Sick of protein powders that upset your stomach and taste like chalk? Switch to Drink Wholesome. It is better for you and better tasting. Our happy customers include athletes of all ages, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, people with lactose intolerance, and people with sensitive stomachs.

Why egg whites?

Egg whites, as a source of protein, have a lot going for them. The bioavailability of the protein in eggs is second only to that of whey protein. Bioavailability is a measurement of how efficiently your body uses a specific type of dietary protein. In essence, the higher its bioavailability, the more efficiently a protein source is used by the body and the more bang you get for your nutritional buck! Eggs are also a complete source of essential branched-chain amino acids, which means that they contain all of the amino acids that the body needs, but cannot produce on its own. This makes eggs one of the best ways to boost your protein intake.

Why chickpeas?

We use chickpeas because we find that they can compete with whey and egg white protein in terms of taste, mouthfeel, and even functionality. When it comes to other plant-based proteins, chickpeas are a frontrunner. Although they have a similar nutritional profile to green and yellow split peas, they taste far better. Chickpea protein powder is also non-allergenic, non-GMO (unlike soy), and has an excellent amino acid profile.

Just came in. It’s a game changer. I have been looking forward to this for a while and it exceeded my expectations. Thank you! It blends so well and makes a foamy latte that is perfect for breakfast.

  2. Brian Khan

Matcha is unreal. Actually my favorite flavor. I’m going to have it every morning. Wish there was a bigger bag. Also would be nice to know caffeine content. I don’t notice it, but I’m curious.

  3. Kennedy James

I had no idea what to expect. I love Starbuck’s matcha lattes, and I was hoping for something similar. This honestly might be better. The sweetness is perfect, it’s not too bitter, and if you blend it with almond milk it froth’s really nicely. You have a new customer.

  4. Jack Tracey

The flavor is really nice, even for someone who doesn’t love green tea. I wish it had fewer carbs, but I understand why it doesn’t. Still worth it for the whole food ingredients. So much better than the other junk out there.

  5. Jamie Hunt

This is easily the tastiest protein powder I’ve ever had. It really reminds me of a matcha latte when mixed with almond milk. If I didn’t know, I honestly wouldn’t think it was a protein shake. It also doesn’t upset my stomach at all. Yay!

  6. Tripp

If you like matcha you will love this! I’ve been looking for a matcha protein for a while now, and this hits the spot. Not too bitter, not too sweet. Just pleasant. Makes me feel really good too. No cramps, bloating, etc.

  7. Joe

I ordered it two days ago, and it just arrived. Fast shipping! Smells amazing. Tastes better. Not too bitter, not too sweet. Ingredients are the best I’ve ever seen. Excellent product.

  8. Allan Mitsch

I was skeptical because matcha is often too bitter for me, but I’m so happy with the taste. It really enjoy it with soy milk. Also, the ingredients are also out of this world. So many protein powders are full of gums and fillers. Happy to support a small business!

  9. Nyla

Flavor is excellent. So tasty. Easy on the stomach too. Please add a scoop! Thanks.

  10. Meaghan

Best Drink Wholesome flavor! Mixes so well and adds the perfect amount of sweetness to a smoothie. It’s the perfect start to my morning.

  11. Damon Cunningham

If you’re at all interested in matcha, you’ve got to try this! I didn’t know what matcha was, but my roommate convinced me to order it and I’m glad I did. It has an amazing flavor. Smooth and sweet. Not bitter, which matcha apparently can be. The ingredients are obviously as good as they get, and my protein shakes make me feel healthy and happy.

  12. Beck

I add this to my greens smoothies. Mixes well. Flavor is excellent, but I would love an unsweetened version.

  13. Chelsea

I’m loving this! The color is amazing and flavor is even better. I like matcha everything, and this is one of the best products I’ve encountered. The ingredients are top notch. I’m also happy to support a small business!

  14. Ellen

Wish there were more servings. Other than that really good stuff. Mixes well, which was surprising, and the flavor is great. The ingredients are, of course, amazing. You can taste the difference.

  15. Elizabeth Neas

I mix the matcha flavor with coconut milk and could not be happier! You can really taste and feel the quality of the ingredients.

  16. Nick Patterson

I’m loving this flavor. I really like the real food ingredients, although there are more carbs than I would like. Not a big deal though, and probably worth it because it tastes so much better than other protein supplements.

  17. Finn Michaels

Not bitter like some matcha flavors. Slightly sweet. Honestly perfect for matcha lovers. Does not mix as well as some other protein powders, so definitely need a good shaker bottle or blender. Overall a great product!

  18. Sean Dean

This has got to be the best protein powder I’ve ever had. I’m not a huge fan of chocolate or vanilla, so I’m happy they have other flavors. It’s surprisingly filling, and I love that there is no chalky/artificial sweetener aftertaste. Well done!!

  19. Aaron Twice

Really good protein but the bags are not big enough for me.

  20. Nicholas

I’m delighted with this protein powder. It’s the first protein powder I’ve had that doesn’t upset my stomach.

  21. Donna

This is the first protein powder that does not upset my stomach. The matcha does give me a bit of a buzz, which I do not like, but the flavor is good. I really like this brand, so I think I’ll try another flavor.

  22. Nick Xia

Good. I would prefer a stronger matcha flavor. Mixes well and has a nice aftertaste. Good, simple ingredients.
